Matt Jarboe is joining the HOLT family!  Matt will be our new Lighting & Controls Specialist bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to HOLT’s high-caliber lighting team. Matt’s years of industry experience will add enormous value to our customers, ensuring they are getting the best quality lighting and controls packages we have to offer. 

Matt had this to say about his new role with HOLT, “There are a lot of terminologies that the industry has thrown around in their (the customers) faces that they may not completely understand, that’s where I step in.” Our CEO Ryan Holtzman had this to say about Matt joining the team, “ We are thrilled to welcome Matt to the HOLT team! Matt’s versatility and industry expertise will bring tremendous value to our internal teams as well as our loyal customers.” 

Matt is originally from Evansville, Indiana. He graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Theatrical Design, emphasizing lighting design. Matt moved to St. Louis after graduating and worked with STL Lighting Group for over eight years. He was then a team member of RLG Lighting for another four years doing specification sales before joining the HOLT team. Matt’s relationship with HOLT began when his team at STL Lighting Group was a HOLT client years ago. Throughout that three year relationship there, Matt grew to know Sylvan Holtzman, our HOLT chairman, and then the rest of the HOLT team! “I am very excited to be with people that I have ‘worked with’ for years!” exclaimed Matt. 

“My passion for lighting has always been a part of my life,” Matt expressed when asked about his history. ”I have been working with lighting since I was 13 years old, doing the production lighting for my middle school musical plays!” His past positions were as a lighting manufacturing representative, so less stage makeup involved! With his years of experience, Matt is well versed in communication with GC’s and architects, distributors, customers, and even contractors in the field. “My favorite part of my job is communicating with the end-users who need education on lighting and controls,” Matt said when asked what his favorite aspects of his job are. “It is a great challenge to talk through the best options for customers, making sure they are getting the best product possible for their project!” 

Our Director of Business Development Shane McCorkle had this to say about Matt joining the HOLT team, “I am thrilled to have Matt on our team. He is extremely well connected and well versed in the lighting industry. He will add an enormous amount of value to the lighting team he is joining! It is just the beginning of his journey, and I can’t wait to get this rolling and get him to work!”
