HOLT Electrical Supply is a full-line electrical distributor with 7 locations in the St. Louis metro area and beyond. We’re a family-owned company focused on helping our community and our employees grow.

As a Product Data Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining accurate and reliable product data within our ERP database. This includes creating and maintaining a variety of product data not limited to catalog numbers, descriptions, images, shipping dimensions, packaging, key words, attributes, unit of measures, and costs. This position will work directly with the Purchasing & Pricing and Departments.


Product Item Creation and Vendor On-boarding

  • Creates new item records requested from purchasing, sales, and pricing teams.
  • Keeps system costs current using a variety of sources; vendor files received directly or through rep agencies or pricing services
  • Communicates with suppliers to fill essential data for items including cost and list prices
  • Relays key information to requester and purchasing team
  • Continuously finds ways to improve item creation process

Product Data Maintenance

  • Uses existing systems and spreadsheets to identify items missing data or in need of adjustments and taking corrective action
  • Manipulates, updates, and maintains supplier data files and maintains product file data to include all product attributes for active and discontinued products
  • Analyzes and establishes new product file data by review and verification
  • Processes new data within departmental time frame
  • Requesting data from suppliers

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assists pricing team by creating price groups within product lines
  • Assist with on-board of new suppliers
  • Working with the purchasing team to introduce new products to our company

  •  Associates degree is preferred
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, suppliers, and team members

  • Intense attention to detail needed for data entry accuracy
  • Critical thinker with excellent written and oral skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to last minute changes and quick solicitation and reporting turnaround
  • Expert Windows/PC and base knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Multitasker that is calm under pressure
  • Experience with Eclipse software a plus
  • Driven to suggest new processes or ideas
